Rabbi Lori Klein is, along with Chaya Gusfield, one of the two first openly lesbian rabbis ordained by the Jewish Renewal movement. They were both ordained at the same time in January 2006.[1] She now serves as an oncology hospital chaplain at Stanford University Medical Center, and as Chair of the Board of Directors of ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal.[2][3] In 2007 she finished her chaplain residency at Stanford.[4][5] She also works as a community activist and attorney.[6] She lives in Santa Cruz, California with her partner Ilene Reti.[7]
